München in black and white...

End of January i have started an analogue photography course. The first task was the shoot a b&w film, then we developed it, in the third session we have made the contact sheets and this week we made the first proof prints. I have scanned for you some of my favorite ones below.
Some pictures from Munich really look like old post cards of the city, i found this effect pretty charming. So enjoy them and have a good weekend!

Iglu-Dorf at Zugspitze...

Iglu Dorf Zugspitze
A funny thing to see at the topof Zugspitze is a visit to the Iglu-Dorf....After passing though the ice bar one may have a look how the village is built. There are several bed rooms with differnt decorations on the walls...

Zugspitze: the top of Germany...

Zugspitze is the highest mountain pick in Germany with its 2962 meters, its located next to the Austrian border, close to the town Grainau. A lot of people use the cable car or the cute "Zahnradbahn" (cog railway) to go up and enjoy the view. Some of the more sportive ones take advantage of the snowy pists. The ski resort is just next to the Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where the ski world cup 2011 is taking place right now!

Of course even at 2600m there is one "Maibaum"....to remind us that we are in Bavaria...on the way back town to the valley the moon was already on the sky!

München from the top of the church "Alter Peter"....

There is no doubt, best view of Munich one may enjoy from the church "Alter Peter" next to the Viktualienmarkt, Marienplatz in the beautiful Bavarian capital. On a clear winter day this view stretches up to the Alps!

Of course not to forget (or underestimate) is the fact that there is no lift and there are 14 floors to climb up first, but the reward then is amazing. Last week I had the pleasure to enjoy one of the most amazing sunsets in my life here....

Snow actvities around Nymphenburger Schloss and Nymphenburger Schlosspark

Its is around -10 or even -12 outside and the canals around the castle Nymphenburg in Munich are frozen...People come out to enjoy the ice.

Next to ice-skating and ice-hockey one may play also "Eisstockschiessen" (Bavarian curling)...Myself had fun skating on a frozen lake, next to the footprints of ducks and swans:-)
