Fluffy dandelions in Rijswijk, Holland...

Every spring one of the first flowers to greet the warming sun is the yellow dandelion! Funny enough at the end of its stay with us this flower tranforms to a very fluffy white ball...Few days ago I spent some time looking closely to this fluffy plant and took into pictures some of its spectacular details! One may also use its leaves in the salad, they are a bit acid, but mixed with other salad sorts makes a fresh meal;

Dandelions are my nemesis, but your camera makes them enticing.

I think the dandelion fluff in the first photo is a perfect universe of its own. Your photos are perfectly lovely. Have happy days ahead.

Jana,

In the US, people usually have lawn care men spray to get rid of dandelions if they have them in their yard. I've heard of using dandelion greens in salads but never tried it. Funny, how the very weed people try to get rid of can be used in salads. HA

Nice macros! I didn't know you can use them on salads. I don't think I am that adventurous to try it.

Your middle two photos show a fluffy dandelion which I have never seen. Both types have pretty seed heads.
