Flight over Zuid-Holland, part 2: Scheveningen, Zandmotor, Monster, den Haag and Delft

In the second part of our sightseeing flight with Lionair we flew alongt he coastal line passing by Noordwijk, Scheveningen, Kijkduin (above is the Zandmotor) and Monster.
The Zandmotor is a 2-year-old project to reinforce the costal protection between Kijkduin and Ter Heide. The manmade sand peninsula should support the natural collection of more sand in this part of the coast (and help build bigger dunes),

In Westland we went inland and the greenhouses-landscape (see third picture) was all over till the horizon. here a lot of the Dutch fruits&veggies are grown. After we saw some known and unknown places of the Hague and Rijswijk the central square of the Delf Old town charmed me... Simply amazing experience:-) Have a good new week everyone!
...and here are the views of den Haag and Delft (last picture).

Crocusland = Holland

Every year for some weeks tulipland Holland turns into the crocusland...Carpets of purple, white and yellow flowers covers cities and fields. It is funny to see that crocus and snowdrop come out of the ground at the same time (at home the snowdrops were always the first ones.

And as this winter was so long, the crocus time was just the past few weeks...Now its sure and official spring is coming:-))

Jazz in de gracht=music on water in den Haag!

Dutch people are really creative!
Yesterday I attended a very unusual jazz concert, the "Jazz in de gracht" in den Haag...it was on water! The different jazz bands were moving from one scene to another by boat:-)
All concerts were held within one canal and every 20 minutes a new boat with a new band was arriving...

Spring is in the air of ... Den Haag and Rijswijk!

I could finally smell it! The green, fresh and unmistakable taste of spring is in the air...Its been around for some weeks now, but yesterday one could enjoy it 100%: with sunshine and lovely blue sky!!!

Trees and bushes are in blossom, ladybugs are flying around, some birdies are singing, some others are already taking care of their new born little ones.
In the last pic I got one duck just after it had caught a fish for its little one:-)
