Once you start to discover the famous "city of angels" (as the Thai
capital is called), the first thing one see/smells and perceives is the
Bangkoks streetfood. Food stalls are literally everywhere offering fresh
fruits, tons of sweets or simply grilled meat&sausages. In the
lunch break one may also get a whole warm dish (soups, curry or fried
rice)...People also eat in the street on the sidewalk, where vendors
oten install not only their mobile kitchen but also few tables and
chairs for their guests. Every cook collects very careful the made
garbage as there are big fines for rubbish on the street...
And in order to wish you all HAPPY holidays, some "tropical" decoration from here too:-)
Excellent photos of street venders selling cooked food.I have happy memories of Bangkok, when I had to flee through the jungle from Vietnam to the safety of Bangkok in 1971. I found the people warm and hospitable, and I loved the food.
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes.

ReplyDeleteWOW! What great photos! I have to ask, "Are you afraid of eating the food that vendors serve on the streets?" I would be worried about getting sick from the different foods available.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo of you next to the elephant!

ReplyDeleteHi Jana, I'm always amazed at your constant adventures. I feel as though I can stay at home, read your blog, and pretend I'm a world traveler through your photos and descriptions! It finally snowed in Breckenridge. Two grandchildren are visiting us this week, so we're skiing and having some fun. Happy Holidays to you from CO!
ReplyDeleteLovely, colourful photos of the street scenes and food. Must put Bangkok on my places-to-visit bucket list.
