As promised finally some videos from the long snorkeling hours in the warm water of the Indian ocean. Next to the colourful trigger fishes and the quick butterfly fishes I had the honour to swim with a huge family of squids (over 20) and one let me (very kindly) film him/her from very close! Doenjoy the video and those fantastic colours. The squids are extremely incredible to watch in therei element (water) as they move with their wings and change colours almost all the time!
The second video shows the huge variety of different fishes in the bay of St Leu after one local crushed a sea urchin and let the passing by fishes have a feast:
And some more pictures from the underwater inhabitants and the snorkeling tourists:-)

You are almost diving instead of snorkeling. Great article.
Greetings,
Filip
oh, I am with Filip, you are almost diving than snorkeling, I so envy you, I would love love to see the beauty of the underwater world like you do and take pictures of them too. wonder what camera do you use? do you use underwater camera, or you buy casing for your camera?
If i had one wish for free, i would like to be a part of this fabulous and incredible underwater world...
thank U!
@betchai: I do put the normal camera (Canon G12) in its "ikelite" underwater housing; with this housing one may dive till 40 m depth too;
the advantage of a housing is that you have the same camera you are used to (in this case the G12 even takes raw-formatpics)...I had tried once my SLR also underwater (with the corresponding housing), but this is when its gets just too big and not handy to handle; because you got then: yourself, equipement and camera in even bigger underwater housing, and this all underwater;)
@Christian (papillon): actually we do manage to be part of it for few hours/minutes whne we dive/snorkel, dont we?!
thanks so much for the info, Jana, I saw some with dslr and with casing, and I do not think I can handle it because the casing is huge. I will look into the camera you have and its housing, it's so much fun if we can bring some pictures of what we see under water too. I really love all your pictures and your video. I think that is one advantage also of your camera, you can also take video.
Thank you for taking me into this magical sea world, jana!
