Refreshing green views at the waterfalls "Cascades du Hérisson" in Jura, France

Some weeks ago, at the pretty cold& wet beginning of May we were enjoying some free days in the green area of Jura, located in Franche-Comté, France, close to the Swiss border. The weather was not very stable, but because of all the rain the vegetation was very luxious and the waterfalls really full...So it was time for waterfall-photography! On the way to the famous "Cascades du Hérisson"  we encountered the cute cows giving the milk for my absolute favourite cheese: Comté! So the first pictures hows you the happy milk-makers grazing the yellow dandellions.

Few kilometers afterwads we arrived at the starting point for the walk around the seven waterfalls of Herisson, along the river Herisson. The path streches over 7,5 km and offers magnificent views over different small, big and bigger falls called names like "l Èventail" (Fan-65m), "Grand Saut" (The big Jump-60m), "Saut Girard" (The Jump of Girard-35m). Nico was really enjyoing himself and using his new tripod. Waterfalls offer great possibility for creative pictures with long shutter speed. In the pictures below we have used speed from 1/4s till 0.6s.

Austria and Vienna seen from the air...

The other day while flying back home I was totally mesmerised by the fantastic green views from the air shortly before, above and after Vienna (my flight had a stop over there)...First I had some green-yellow fields, then the city architecture and then..... some differently green-coloured fields. Enjoy!

Spring nature in Lorraine, France

This long weekend we have been enjoying the colours and beauty of spring nature in and around Filstroff, a cozy&tiny village in Lorraine, northeast of France...just some 5 km from the German and and a bit more (22km) from Luxembourg.
Next to the fresh and recharging green&yellow colours of the fields of rape seeds and dandelions, I have also encountered a baby horse (born just 15 days ago) and 4 very playful 1,5/2-months old baby foxes...The last ones rolled down to me on a small hill at the edge of a forest and looked at me with eyes saying "would you like to play with us"?

Did you see the two baby foxes in the pic below (check the left and right corner)...

Yep, spring, sunshine and colours are wonderful and make us all very happy!:-)))

Krimmler Wasserfaelle/ Krimml Waterfalls, the biggest waterfalls in Europe

Next to fresh mountain air, breathtaking green landscapes and local specialties (such as local cheese and wine), the Austrian mountains imSalzburger Land offer just tons of beatiful nature...A great place for a day-hike are the Krimmler Wasserffaelle...They are the biggest waterfalls in Europe with a total height of 380 meters!
The falls are formed from the Krimmler Ache river and are located near the village of Krimml in the High Tauern National Park in Salzburgerland. After the falls, the river joins the Salzach, which flows to the Inn, then into the Danube River and finally to the Black Sea.
...and when the sun is there, it is just a perfect summer day in the mountain!

Walderlebnispfad am Litermont, Saarland

In the sunny Bundesland Saarland, next to the French-Luxembourg-border, there is a walking path which won several awards in the last years. I was especially intrigued by the trolls and the other wood sculptures and games along it.
On a very warm and sunny August day it was a great thing to do. Next to some cute wooden trolls, one may try the "Drachenschaukel" (the dragon swing, picture above), walk through the "Weidendom" (house built out of willow trees, second picture below) and enjoy the panoramic view from Litermont hill...
