Its difficult to (even try to) describe the magnificent flower-glory one
could see this year end of April while flying over the Bollenstreek.
Luckily for us, tulips and hyacinths were decorating the fields at the
same time in all possible colours. Add a clear blue sky, nice sunshine
and a friendly pilot and you have a great spring experience for years to
remember. Enjoy the colour flower-power!!!

Bloemenvlucht/ flower fields flight in april 2014 with LionAir
After seeing the flower fields from close and inside we were curious to see them again from up in the air. As last year we contacted the friendly and professional LionAir and book one hour "bloemenvlucht". With Michel as pilot we flew over Leiden, Keukenhof, Lisse, Noordwijkerhout and then along the coast: Wassenar, Scheveningen, Monster and Rotterdam...Again an amazing experience and perfect weather with fantastic colours!

Flight over Zuid-Holland 2013, part 1: Dutch flower fields& Leiden seen from the air
This year we decided to try a flight to the tulp fields starting from
Rotterdam airport so we could fly over Leiden, Bollenstreek (the sping
flower area), den Haag and Scheveningen...In this post I will take you
onboard wth me and will show the fantastic view over the old town of
Leiden (first pic), our cute plane (Cessna, four-seater) and the spring colours
seen from the air! Enjoy the view+have a good flight:-)))
For all the curious ones who want to do the
same: we flew with Lionair, I do recommend them for this
1-hour-sightseeing-tulip-flight.

Gliding in Ontario & pictures from the air with York Soaring Club
Today I am gonna share with you an amazing new experience. My very good
friend (and colleague) Dave took me up in the air, on board of his
beautiful glider Slingsby T21B. After preparing all the cute little toys
on the grass in front of the hangar, we climb in and got pulled in the
air by another plane for around 10minutes. Then we were left floating
under the clouds and above the autumn colour painted landscape...
What is special about this glider is that the two seats are next to each other (and not one behind) and the open cockpit (which is great for pics). Btw this British beauty (age around 60 years, made 1953-54) is now so rare, that Dave´s glider is the only one in Canada. Only 300 were made in total and still around 200 exist and fly around:-)
On the picture below one can see the air field of York Soaring Club too...

Austria and Vienna seen from the air...
The other day while flying back home I was totally mesmerised by the fantastic green views from the air shortly before, above and after Vienna (my flight had a stop over there)...First I had some green-yellow fields, then the city architecture and then..... some differently green-coloured fields. Enjoy!
